Summary:	Photographs taken by photographer Vilém Heckel during the ill-fated trip of the "Expedice Peru 1970" mountaineering expedition to Peru in which an avalanche precipitated by an earthquake cost him and fourteen other members of the climbing team their lives. The photographs reproduced include two scenes from Northwest Africa, one from Chile, while the rest capture various aspects of the Peruvian landscape.
