Review by Kirkus Book Review

This encyclopedic collection edited by the former astronaut and researcher on psi phenomena is comprehensive, thought-provoking and utterly serious in intent. The sophistication and complexity of experimental design and vast accumulation of statistical data on telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, and psychokinesis (in plants and animals as well as man) should help to put an end to the general debunking of these rather common and sometimes verifiable events; there is also (necessarily) more descriptive but nonetheless impressive information on exotica like psychic surgery, apparitions (D. Scott Rogo), out-of-body experiences (Charles T. Tart), thoughtography, dematerialization, and Kirlian photography of auras. In addition, pieces on paraphysics, psychobiology (Robert Morris), and mystical experience (Charles Honorton) attempt to provide conceptual frameworks for the study and understanding of psi experiences that counter current accepted scientific, philosophic and religious assumptions. For the layman who wishes to learn about the fascinating speculations going on concerning interactions of ""mind"" and ""matter. Copyright ©Kirkus Reviews, used with permission.
